You're sprinting from meeting to meeting, and by the time evening rolls around, you've barely got enough energy left to scroll — let alone read. Meanwhile, your books are gathering dust on the shelf or stuck on some endless to-do list. We at ELI get it — trust us, we've lived it too. And yet reading is one of the simplest ways to build exactly the strengths we need most right now: resilience, focus, reflection, empathy. So we're reading less, precisely when we need it most. That's the paradox that drives us every day.
"ELI" stands for "Elephant Lines" — named after the drawing in the first chapter of "The Little Prince." Most adults look at it and see a hat. Kids, like the Little Prince, see something different: the outline of an elephant swallowed by a snake.
Both are looking at the same lines, but only one of them takes the time to see what's really there. That's exactly what we're about: less frantic skimming, more mindful attention to what's actually in front of you — in a book, and in yourself.
With digital products built around (re)discovering the joy of reading, ELI invites you to reclaim that way of seeing. Not so you can check another book off your to-do list, but for the quiet that shows up when your mind finally stops wandering.
